Having a church app is not a new idea. Many churches have one. But most of these mobile applications serve one purpose. That purpose is to market the church and bring in new members. This is not bad in itself but I feel that it misses out on a great opportunity. Because in all the new mobile technology that is at our finger tips now, we have a great opportunity to not only bring in new members but also send out the members that we have to do an incredible ministry of reaching the lost and building disciples. And when are only thinking about bringing in we miss out on this opportunity. Just imagine what would happen if each of your members had an application at their fingertips that not only helped them grow in their faith but also helped them go out and reach others around them. Think about how our communities might be changed. This is just something to keep in mind as you consider what resources your church should invest in and how you get the most impact out of those resources.
